What is COB?

Chip-on-Board or COB LEDs, as opposed to SMDs are segmented into numerous tiny pieces of semi-conductor crystals and are directly placed over a substrate. COBs are popular for their heat efficient behaviour. They ensure minimum heat production and emit homogeneous light. The behaviour is enhanced with the addition of a ceramic substrate which induces a cooling effect in addition to the homogeneous light production. COBs' LEDs have a longer life span
